Welcome to Sorges in the Périgord (Dordogne), a "green" holiday resort.

Sorges has 1081 inhabitants spread over more than 17 square miles. Approximately 200 people live in the village itself and the others in the surrounding countryside and 18 hamlets.Sorges lies on a chalk plateau at an altitude of 110 metres, with woodlands to the east and the west. The climate is oceanic and temperate. Périgueux is 20 km to the south and Limoges 80 km to the north on the main RN 21 road (which is one of the pilgrimage routes to Saint Jacques de Compostelle).
Paris is 4 hours away by train (from Thiviers station) and 1 hour by plane (from Périgueux-Bassillac airport). Many years ago"Occitan" was the regional language of the South-West. Sorges is in the Occitan region.
